Under 12 News:

• Hard luck to the Under 12’s who were defeated by Bantry in West Region League on Friday night in Castletownbere.

Under 14 News 

Well done to U14’s who had a good win over Múintíre Bhaire

Castletownbere U14 have moved up to second in the West Cork Region League after an excellent display of football. The Town opted to play with the elements for the first half and it was Daniel Hanley who settled the home side down with a well taken score. However it was Muintir Bhaire who got the next score with a neatly taken goal. After both teams had settled down it was the Town who got the most out of the remaining 25 minutes of the half with Daniel Hanley contributing another point and Fintan Fenner, Cian Nolan and Lee Kelly all contributing goals throughout the half. Alex Spundov who was dominating the middle third also contributed 2-1. However it was the notable skills, work rate and finishing of Killian Murphy that most impressed with three well taken points.

The Half time score was Castletownbere 5-7 Muintir Bhaire 1-2

Muintir Bhaire with the aid of the elements laid siege on the Town goalfor the first ten minutes but were met with huge resilience from the Town backs. Sean Dwyer was called upon on a few occasions and was well able for the task as he pulled off a tremendous save that was top corner bound. It’s also worth noting that his kick outs were excellent throughout and was the platform for several Town attacks. Town started to dominate with Donagh Murphy, Jonathan Harrington and Cormac Harrington all starting to dominate in defence. Lee Kelly and Fintan Fenner scored the Town second half goals. Credit to Muintir Bhaire who kept playing to the end and were rewarded well with some excellent performances and well taken scores. Lee Kelly finished off the Town scoring with a fisted point. Town are now placed 2nd in the League table with 4 wins from a possible 5. Well done to all involved.

A great win by Town on Suday when they took on Glenville in the Division 3 League. Final Score was Castletownbere 3.17 Glenville 0.9.. Well done

U8’s Blitz

Well done to the U8’s who turned out to play in the Blitz in Adrigole on Saturday. A great day was had by all who attended and well done and thank you  to Adrigole Gaa for hosting the very well organised event.
