Castletownbere played their 3rd round League game in extremely testing weather and under foot conditions in Droum today. Town lost the toss and played against the wind in the first half and proceeded to play quite well with some good passages of play leading by 2 points following scores from Dave Fenton & Richard Murphy. Mitchelstown replied with 2points to tie up the score.  Declan Dunne finished off a good move to goal and put town a goal ahead.  Mitchelstown once again responded and got 2 points to leave just the minimum between the teams.  Reece Dillane kicked a nice point and following a defensive mix up Cormac Whelan prodded the ball home to leave the half time score CTB 2-03 Mitchelstown 0-4
Mitchelstown came out in the second half and kicked the first 3 scores following a few wides from the Town, it meant the sides were now level and the scoreboard was now reading 1-6 to 2-03.Mitchelstown added a further goal and a point. Town rallied and didn’t panic and following a great ball in from Reece Dillan, Dave Fenton flicked the ball past the goalie to leave the bear minimum in it, Richard Murphy kicked a super point from a tight angle to tie the game up and  with that the final whistle went ,final score line CTB 3-04 Mitchelstown 2-07.
