 Division 3 League 
Castletownbere played Glanworth in the  Division 3 Football League in Droum on Saturday last in good conditions. The first half was a closely fought one that ended on the score of 0/5 to 0/3 in ‘Town’s favour. The second half opened with a point from Castletown, quickly followed by a goal from Glanworth and it was level. ‘Town floated another two points, then Glanworth’s attack was fended off by a great save by the Castletown goalie but Glanworth persisted and the ball hit the back of the net. The match was a draw on two more occasions but it was Glanworth that edged the win in the end by a point and the full time score was 0/11 to 2/6. Castletownbere’s Junior B team also played Bere Island on Saturday in Droum and despite a determined performance from the Bere Island, Castletown won well. Team – Gerard Healy, Colin Sheehan, Aed O’Shea, Alan Harrington, Conor Power/Conor Mc. Quaid(0/1), Donagh” Bawn” O’Sullivan(0/1), Conall Kane, Dylan Nolan, Dean Hegarty(0/3)/Jason Walsh(1/3), Reece Dillane(0/1)/Seamus Spencer, Seán “Bawn” O’Sullivan/Jordan Murphy(0/3), Gary Hurley(1/6).
Minor West Cork League 
Castletownbere Minors played Kilmacabea at home on Friday evening in the West Region League. The ‘Town lads started well but Kilmacabea soon began to edge away and the first half ended on the score of 0/5 to 2/4. Castletown fought back well in the second half but it was Kilmacabea that won on the final score of 3/12 to 1/9. Team – Christopher O’Donoghue, Seán Walsh, Oliver Byrne, Kieran Higgins, Conall Kane, Aed O’Shea, Owen Power(0/1), Cormac Whelan(1/3),  Andrew Murphy, Conor Mc. Castletownbere G.A.A. would like to wish the Scoil Phobail Bhéara Under 16 and a half team and their mentors the best of luck in their Munster Final v Newcastlewest on Friday and also well done to the Beara Under 14’s and their mentors on their win v Nemo Rangers on Sunday last. Beara Cóiste na nOg will be holding their annual Golf Classic in Glengarriff on Saturday and Sunday next, it is their main form of fundraising to cover the running costs of the underage Beara teams – Under 14,16 and 18 at Premier 1 level and all support would be greatly appreciated.
