Castletownbere Coiste na nOg held their annual Kelloggs Cul Camp in Droum last week and a great time was had by all. The weather was favourable for the most part except for Wednesday when the Sportshall was a welcome shelter for the day. A large number of young people from Castletownbere and beyond attended and it was a fun filled, energetic week. Brian O’Driscoll popped in on Friday to say hello to all and of course posed for photos and signed autographs on anything that was handy! Our own home grown Cork Minor, Gary Murphy was also very generous with his time. Many thanks to Denise Power, Sinead Whelan, Noel Murphy, Martin Hegarty,James Mc.Carthy,Anne-Marie Cronin, Caroline Murphy, Marion Murphy, Mick O’Shea and a special thanks to our young trainers that gave their time so freely and without whom, the camp could not have gone ahead. We are very grateful to our young trainers from outside of Beara that have been a part of the camp for the past number of years – Aine and Seán Mullins from Boyle, Rosscommon, Aoife and Andrew Kelleher from Cork, Mark Donlon from Cork and to our own lads, Andrew Murphy, Cormac Whelan, Michael O’Sullivan, Finbarr O’Donovan, Owen Power, Micheál Murphy and Fiachra Murphy. Finally, many thanks again to all of the young people that attended.
